A new era for Agon with their new Spanish office and warehouse

With an ever-growing customer base across the EU, Agon had been keeping a careful eye on the progress of Brexit and the impact it was likely to have on our operations.

The search for European premises

As the UK finally left the EU in January this year, Agon made the decision to open a warehouse and office in Europe.
Malaga in Spain was an obvious choice as we had two bilingual staff located in this area, one of whom is a highly qualified tech support staff manager.

Agon also already has a strong presence across Spain, Portugal and the Iberian islands and as Spain remains part of the EU, it will enable Agon to continue to provide the seamless delivery process previously seen from the UK office prior to Brexit.

Clearly, with the UK and large parts of Europe back in lockdown and infection rates soaring at the beginning of the year, getting out to Spain and sourcing appropriate space wasn’t without its challenges, but we were able to find suitable premises by early March.

A fully operational unit

Our fit-out contractors were able to set to work quickly and, as a result, by mid-April both the office space and warehouse were fully operational with an experienced team in place and ready to run operations.

The new facility includes a technical area to set up the EAS systems and to carry out repairs and has the capacity to handle approximately €500,000s worth of stock at any given time.

There is also the capability to operate the remote service and management of distribution for the entire EU.

An extension of our excellent service

Once again, getting out to Spain during the pandemic for the opening of this new Agon office wasn’t without a few logistical issues but undeterred, CEO Sean Welch was on site for the official opening.

Describing the opening he explained, “On the 19th April the all-new Agon offices in Spain processed its first orders. Agon is delighted to have this new and well-equipped base in Spain so we can continue to deliver the excellent customer service that our customers have come to expect and despite all the challenges of the last 12 months caused by the pandemic, Agon continues to go from strength to strength.”

Agon are now looking forward to a new and exciting era operating in the EU.
