Agon Systems appoints new National Account Manager for UK

Agon’s Electronic Article Surveillance presence in the UK is given a boost this month with the appointment of Tony McCreanney as the company’s new National Account Manager for the UK.

Tony’s career spanning three decades was focused on capital projects, often in highly charged situations. Ultimately he founded and sold his own business before retiring early to live the good life. Tony left retirement to go back into the commercial world to join Agon.

Commenting on his appointment, Tony added: “I have known Agon’s MD, Sean Welch, for some time; more years than I care to remember in fact! Occasionally we would meet and Sean would give me some insight into what he was doing at Agon.

“When the Concept Tag was first mooted, my ears did prick up. It sounded like an amazing solution to a vast problem. After all who would not want to slash their shrink with nominal capital outlay… it seemed like a no brainer to me.

“But the thing that tipped me “over the edge” was the results that the boys at JD Sports were getting. Now that was proof positive that the Concept Tag was something special and I wanted to be a part of it.”

Agon has recently undergone expansion in their manufacturing process and other innovations have given Agon the capacity to supply to a much larger number of retailers, which is where Tony comes in. He will be allowing a broader cross-section of retailers the opportunity to try The Concept Tag, considered to be the most secure EAS Tag in the world, for themselves.

Tony will be thrown in at the deep end this week at Retail Risk – London where he will be coming face to face with some of the biggest retailers in Europe.
